As an artist I have been greatly influenced by urban life and tend toward paintings of cityscapes. The thrum of life in streets, the rush of humanity. I believe the colors I use convey the explosive and exciting quality of urban existence. They are derived from the reflections I find from water, glass, stone and metal from which the scenes are composed. While I am mostly perceived as a cityscape artist I have also done extensive work using the human form doing portraiture. My work also includes mural painting. I have also done copies of works by old and not so old masters’ work. Although these are not exact they are very close. My training as an illustrator has taught me to be careful with detail while my training as an artist has brought me to a broader world of color and more freedom with my brush.
